Quick Access Features

Speed and efficiency are crucial for productive work. With the new “Quick Access” feature, Cryptomator now simplifies direct access to vaults in the file manager.

The new “Quick Access” feature provides quick vault access directly in the file manager and is enabled by default. “Quick Access” is available for Windows and all major Linux distributions; however, macOS support is currently unavailable due to missing system interfaces.

Auto Start on Linux

Some apps are needed as soon as the computer is ready. Now, this is also possible with Cryptomator on Linux! In the app’s settings, you can configure whether Cryptomator should start automatically when you log in. This feature supports the GNOME and KDE desktop environments and is available when installed via AUR, PPA, or DEB.

Bug Fixes

Cryptofs, lastModified & pCloud

Good news for all pCloud users! Previously, pCloud users encountered the issue where the “last modified” date was incorrectly set to “today” whenever a file was copied into a vault. We’ve fixed this problem in Cryptomator’s native file system, CryptoFS. The fix also addressed issues with other cloud providers/storage locations (including FAT32-formatted USB sticks).

Microsoft Office and Dropbox

Editing Microsoft Office documents in a Dropbox vault on Windows occasionally led to data loss. The reason: The “WinFsp” drive type is incompatible with both Microsoft Office and Dropbox, but “WinFsp” is the default on Windows. From now on, the correct type, “WinFsp (Local Drive),” is automatically selected when you create or import a new Dropbox vault. Existing vaults can be switched to the correct type in the vault settings under the “Mount” tab.
