Cryptomator 1.5.0 is coming soon with a redesigned UI, improved usability, and performance enhancements. The Android app gains new features and a licensing option, while the iOS app receives minor updates. We’re finalizing features and preparing documentation, with future plans to support Java 14, Flatpak, and new Android functionalities.

We’re enhancing Cryptomator across platforms. Desktop 1.4.12 adds Linux password storage and custom mount flags; 1.5.0 will bring a UI redesign. On iOS, Files app integration is next. Android 1.4.0 features auto photo upload and third-party app editing, with more updates planned.

Happy New Year! We’re switching to OpenJDK and OpenJFX for shorter release cycles and easier builds. This may also enable Cryptomator to move to “main” in Debian repos. Upcoming updates will add symlink support, and a complete UI redesign is planned for version 1.5.0.

Introducing Dokany (Windows) and FUSE (macOS, Linux) support. Vaults can now be mounted via Dokany and FUSE which is now the preferred way over WebDAV. Expect vastly improved integration into the system.

As you know, we’re providing Cryptomator as a pay-what-you-want software and we want to keep it that way. In the meantime, we’ve grown to a small team working full time on this project. And we all need to pay our bills. Therefore we need your help! If you use Cryptomator in your company or know a company that uses open-source software, please ask if they want to become an official sponsor of Cryptomator. Alternatively, you can support Cryptomator through recurring donations.

In 2018, Cryptomator will switch to FUSE-based drives for better performance and compatibility, move to Java 9 for faster updates and smaller apps, and use IntelliJ as the build platform. From version 1.4.0, only 64-bit systems will be supported; 1.3.x will stay compatible for 32-bit users.
