Cryptomator has been rewritten with a modular core, introducing features like auto-unlock, a new vault format, performance improvements, and enhanced compatibility. We’ve switched to IntelliJ, updated to GPLv3, and dropped 32-bit support. iOS and Android updates include compatibility with vault format 6, bug fixes, and new features like fingerprint support on Android, with more updates on the way.

Cyberduck 6.0 now supports Cryptomator vaults! Access cloud storage directly without local sync, compatible with vaults from both Cyberduck and Cryptomator.

Cryptomator 1.2.3 for Windows resolves the system error 53/67 by fixing a missing webclient registry entry. The update also enhances password management, maintains WebDAV server uptime after failed mounts, and adds a debug mode. Next, version 1.3 will integrate CryptoFS, preparing for FUSE/Dokany support in version 1.4.

We’ve released the first beta of Cryptomator for Android after six months of development! It’s a new, native app with cryptographic code outsourced to CryptoLib. Next up, we’ll fix critical bugs, then add support for Google Drive, OneDrive, and WebDAV, aiming for feature parity with the iOS app.

Cryptomator 1.2.0 is out for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with optional password saving, faster directory listings, and improved usability. On iOS, it adds compatibility with desktop 1.2.0, new sorting and filtering options, and bug fixes. File size obfuscation was removed to enhance performance. A beta release for Android is coming soon!

Cryptomator 1.1.4 fixes security vulnerabilities related to Flash file injections and addresses bugs with cloud services, Windows, and Linux. A beta release for the Android app is planned soon, and we’re working on performance improvements with FUSE/Dokany integration and modularizing cryptographic libraries. “Auto Unlock” is a priority for a future release.

Cryptomator for iOS is now available in the French App Store after gaining French encryption approval. Beyond the U.S. ERN, apps using non-standard cryptography require approval from France’s ANSSI, involving a mailed application in French. The process can take a few months, so be prepared for some translation work and waiting.

Cryptomator 1.1 is now available for Windows, OS X, Linux, and iOS! This update includes a password strength indicator, sync conflict detection, and several bug fixes. The iOS version adds WebDAV support, background downloads/uploads, improved Google Drive integration, and UI optimizations. An Android app prototype is also in development.
